Tips and Advice on Beagle Care

One type of dog people love are beagles for a lot of reasons. These dogs are very adorable and win everyone over with their big eyes, playfulness, and wagging tails. They are fun and energetic. They love to play and they always want to have fun. Plus, the love sleeping and cuddling their owners. If you plan on owning one of these dogs, you should know some important rules about caring for them. Here are some ways to maximize the fun you have with your pet dog.

You'll need to be very patient in training your beagle as they are hard dogs to train. Beagles can be very inflexible when they are being taught. One reason for this is their short attention span. Thus, beagles lose interest very rapidly when trained. You need to keep their attention and the best way to do that is train them without distractions when you first start training them and then slowly introduce stimulus.

Additionally, avoid having variations in your training agenda. This might make them confused over the meanings of each saying. The program you join should be consistent each week. Start training your beagle young because it is the easiest to train. Training beagles when they are little is the best way to ensure they trained well. Taking your beagle to a school will ensure that they understand all the important commands and behave properly and act accordingly.

Potty training your dog is another important thing to do with your dog. Give your dog with treats when he goes outside so he connects outdoors with the bathroom. However, don't do this too much otherwise your beagle might never go outdoors to pee without getting a piece of food beforehand.

Remember to groom your dog, especially its feet and ears, regularly. Make sure to brush its teeth often and brush its coat once or twice a week. This will keep its coat clean and shiny. It will help get rid of dirt and pests. If your dog gets dirty, make sure to give them a bath. The toe-nails of your pet should be trimmed by you when required. Make sure to also check and clean behind your beagles ears regularly as they have a tendency to attract bugs and other insects that might cause problems with your dog. If your dog does get one, make sure to call a vet and take care of it right away.

Its also important to schedule annual visits to the doctor. Regular check ups with a doctor ensure that your beagle is safe and healthy. You don't want to wait until it is too late. Always keep a good vets contact number close by for any medical crisis for your beagle. Feed your pet premium quality dog food. Don't try to over feed your beagle. Only feed them during regular times a day and don't feed them a lot of treats and human food during the course of the day. Doing all of these things will ensure a long and healthy life for your pet beagle.
